Outside style and deck life.

This yacht features a wide fold-down electronic bathing platform with wireless remote control. Built into the transom it unfolds to offer easy access to and from the dinghy. The “aft terrace” as Jeanneau call it, has the option of custom-designed loungers for sunbathing whilst anchored. The helm seats are also hinged and folded up at anchor to give even more space. Also, integrated into the hull, there is a neatly designed retractable telescopic davit for the dinghy.

The cockpit has a huge drop-leaf cockpit table incorporating drinks holders and big enough storage to house a life-raft. Generous seating includes cut-outs in the aft coach roof bulkhead that extend the cockpit benches a foot or so forward of the companionway. These are the perfect spot to relax, slightly out of the way and cosily tucked up under the dodger but still connected to the action in the rest of the cockpit.

Sail controls are easily reached with the German mainsheet system and the genoa sheets led straight back to a pair of winches on either side of the cockpit.

The chain-plates are set outboard, and the genoa tracks are set in tight alongside the coach roof giving close sheeting angles. This arrangement also leaves the side decks nice and clear. Up forward there is more lounging space on the foredeck and a massive storage locker in the bow. The locker can be replaced with a skipper berth.

Two different L-shaped keels are available, the shoal draft at 5ft 8in or deep draft at 7ft 5in. The 2019 Jeanneau 54’s wonderfully large single rudder ensures firm control and a great feel. Spray-hood and bimini with integrated led lighting are included a there is a powerful electric windlass at the bow.

Under sail and power

The deck-stepped Seldén fractional rig supports aft-swept spreaders and carries a Dacron furling mainsail and 110% overlapping genoa as standard. But there is plenty of flexibility and choice of sail plan: a full battened classic mainsail is an option. And forward of the mast, you can choose a smaller self-tacking jib as well as a Code 0.

Aboard the 2019 Jeanneau 54, Harken winches are in easy reach, two primary and two on the coach-roof.  With a full array of Raymarine electronics and all the sail controls led neatly to the cockpit she is a breeze to sail short-handed despite her size.

The Yanmar 80HP sail-drive is standard and there is a 110HP upgrade available. The 2019 Jeanneau 54 delivers over 8knots at 2,700 rpm and she is responsive and easy to handle under power. The raised throttle control at the starboard helm is at a nice height and means no stooping down to operate the engine. Add the bow thruster and mooring in a tight Marina space becomes a dream and stress-free.

Accommodation: Space and functionality.

The modular design allows a choice of interior layouts. For those who want the maximum in space and comfort, the luxurious two-cabin option offers a palatial owners suite forward, plus a spacious double VIP aft cabin on the port side. This layout is great for two couples on an extended cruise.

Alternatively, if your choice is for the maximum number of cabins you can select to have three doubles and two twins, plus a crew cabin all the way forward that’s accessed from the deck. There is a choice in between these as well with a 4 cabin all en-suite option being a popular charter configuration.

The 2019 Jeanneau 54’s saloon is bright and has an impressive headroom that accentuates the feeling of space. As standard the galley is in-line on the port side of the saloon, but as an option can be located aft of the saloon, in what would otherwise be the starboard aft cabin. Both versions are impressive but when the galley is situated in the aft section it is remarkable and worthy of a superyacht.

There is a mass of storage and with the 2 cabin option, a huge dining/salon area with a large fixed table, and U-shaped seating for six to starboard. There is an option for the table to drop down into a double berth and you have a full-size chart table to starboard and a full-length settee to port.

The master cabin forward is luxurious and has a generous island Queen sized double berth with side tables. Plus en-suite head with separate shower unit. There is a mass of natural light thanks to double skylights and large port-light windows.

The aft port cabin is a true VIP double with neat, stepped access and its own head and separate shower, great for guests.

High-quality wood finish in Alpi natural oak or teak, Corian countertops, and well-lit interior exude quality and with multiple choices of interior upholstery, you have a wide choice of styling.
